Where should I be?
There are many locations from which to enjoy the action over Auckland Cup Week. So where's the best place for you?
General admission
General admission gives you access to all public areas including the Newmarket Room in the Ellerslie Stand, public grandstand seating, all public lawn areas around the Ellerslie Stand and the Infield. A café and a bar is located in the Newmarket Room and other food options are available at selected outdoor lawn locations. Alternatively, you may bring your own picnic lunch*.
Ascot Stand
Ascot Stand tickets can be bought online or on the day from the Raceday Office (located on the ground floor of the Ascot Stand). An Ascot Stand ticket provides you with access to several lounges within the stand (as well as The Winning Post bar on the ground floor) - all of which offer café-style dining and great views of the racecourse.
Where is the best place for families?
Families are best to bring a rug and grab a spot on the Newmarket Lawn (with free access into many parts of the Ellerslie Stand) or in the Infield. General admission to the course is free for children under 15, and they are permitted in both the Ellerslie and Ascot Stands.*
Where is the best place for young racegoers?
Social butterflies have plenty of options that include the Stella Artois Garden Party, the Telecom Carnival and the Whips n Spurs Summer Party. Visit the Whips n Spurs website to see more of the best places for younger racegoers to see and be seen during Auckland Cup Week (register on the mailing list to be kept up to date with Whips n Spurs parties as they are not advertised).
Where is the best place for corporate dining or a reserved table?
There are a number of reserved dining options during Auckland Cup Week - including indoor and outdoor options that may be with or without a beverage package. Suggestions include the Presidents Suite, Chairman's Club and Cuvée.
Where is the best place for a large company function or the ultimate in corporate hosting?
Ellerslie has several rooms available for private functions of 30 - 200 people on racedays - you'll have to book one early though, as these are quickly booked out! Alternatively, why not look into a marquee on either the Champagne or Leger Lawn - both have exceptional trackside viewing and there are exquisite food and beverage packages to match.
For further information or to book a private room or marquee, please email hospitality@ellerslie.co.nz or call 09 522 3824 and speak to a Raceday Hospitality Coordinator.
Where is the best place for people interested in fashion?
The catwalk fashion event for Auckland Cup Week – Mercedes Prix de Fashion, takes place on Telecom Derby Day (Sat 5th March 2011). For the best views of the catwalk, the place to be is the Mercedes Fashion Village! With the large number of well dressed people attending Auckland Cup Week, there are great fashion-spotting opportunities on each of the three days!
